Duke Regional Hospital: Servery & Cafe

Duke Regional Hospital needed food-service surfaces that could stand up to constant cleaning, heavy traffic, and strict hygiene standards without looking clinical. We fabricated and installed Corian Snowdrift across the servery and care, chosen because it’s non-porous and seamless: liquids and bacteria can’t get into the joints, and the joints themselves are sanded down until they’re nearly invisible.

Corian’s other advantage showed up in the shaping. Because the material can be heated and molded, we built curved transitions and edges that a rigid stone slab couldn’t match. This mattered for a food-service line that needed to move people through quickly and safely. If a section takes a hit over the years, Corian’s color runs all the way through, so scratches and minor damage can be sanded and buffed out rather than replaced.
